Ulrich Dunkelberg (Partner) has more than 30 years of experience in international financial markets covering structured- and derivative debt and equity products, working out complex assets and special situations.
In 2022 Ulrich took over the CFO function of privately held Largus Group (Tallin) where he helped restructuring the organization. In order to free up time for his supervisory and executive functions he now has handed over this responsibility to another Aybrook partner.
From 2018 Ulrich was Supervisory Board Member of DPF AG and Board Member of DPF Holdings in Malta.
2014 Aybrook partners founded Akademia Residenz (Vienna) where Ulrich worked as Co-CEO on a complex restructuring case. Having successfully restructured company and its assetportfolio, the company was sold in 2018.
In 2010 Ulrich co-founded Aybrook Financial Partners (Dublin) a privately held and regulated Financial Advisory Company with offices in various locations. Aybrook specializes in advising institutional clients on strategic capital market solutions, special situations and restructuring cases.
2007, Ulrich was Managing Director and Global Head of Investor Solutions Group at Dresdner Kleinwort covering all complex and derivative client products (Debt, Equity, Credit and FX) in EMEA, the Americas and Asia. Further, he was Head of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, France, Iberia, BenNeLux and Nordic region.
Before Ulrich worked over 7 years at Merrill Lynch where he was Managing Director and Member of the Management Board for Germany/Austria /Switzerland representing Debt and Capital Markets (2000). Parallel, he was head of the Merrill Lynch European Relationship Management Team.
Until 2000 Ulrich worked for Morgan Stanley advising financial institutions in Germany/Austria/Switzerland on Interest Rate Derivatives and Credit Products.
From 1991 to 1997 he worked at UBS in Zurich, London and New York with institutional and corporate clients on debt market rates-/ financing products.
Ulrich holds an MBA from University of Pittsburgh.
Sven Maier (Partner) is as a partner of Aybrook Financial Partners and has over 25 years experience in the financial industry. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche in New York working on the audit teams for major Wall Street Investment Banks. In 1999 he joined Deutsche Bank’s European Securitization Group in London with responsibility for the bank’s own securitization activities as well as securitizations for German-speaking Europe. Additionally Sven has worked at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in the areas of Securitization, Credit Structuring, and Illiquid Credit Trading. Since 2008 he operates his own family office investing in a variety of asset classes with an initial focus on distressed structured debt securities and real estate projects. In the context of his investment activities he holds several non-executive positions but also gets involved in day to day operations on an interim basis. Recent engagements include CFO roles for a mid-market real estate conversion project, an international logistics company and a Hedge Fund focused on quantitative trading strategies. Sven is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the US. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Munich, Germany, an MBA degree from Bentley College (Boston, USA) as well as a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Padraig McBride (Director) has been a Director at Aybrook Financial Partners Ireland since 2009, and has 20 years’ experience in Telecommunications and Investment Banking. With extensive experience of funding and managing the finances of high-growth companies in emerging markets, Padraig was previously associated with Digicel Group, one of the world’s fastest growing mobile telecommunications companies, where he was integrally involved in their M&A and financing activities, new licensing opportunities, and as Chief Financial Officer of their operations in the Eastern Caribbean. Prior to joining Digicel, Padraig spent 10 years in the Investment Banking industry, with Brown Brothers Harriman and AIB Capital Markets. Padraig is a Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) by profession.
